(Charlottetown, PEI) – The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is pleased to announce that Charlottetown will play proud host to the 2011 East Coast Music Awards, Festival & Conference.
“Charlottetown never disappoints as a committed supporter of this event, and is close to our hearts as the association’s home base of operations,” said Su Hutchinson, executive director of the East Coast Music Association. “The city of Charlottetown, the province of Prince Edward Island, and a dedicated bid committee working closely together, have more than satisfied the bid requirements to host the 2011 ECMA's. With great anticipation, we look from the beautiful island of Cape Breton in 2010 to magnificent Prince Edward Island in 2011, and to Charlottetown, known for exceptional hospitality and the ability to dazzle visitors from around the world when staging big events and offering a warm welcome. Charlottetown is the place to be from March 24 until March 27, 2011.”
Charlottetown mayor Clifford Lee said the city is excited and honoured to host ECMA 2011. “The City of Charlottetown values its strong relationship with the East Coast Music Association and applauds their decision in awarding this highly sought after event - a diverse celebration of culture and music that carries many economic and cultural impacts that will benefit our community and province,” said Mayor Clifford Lee. “Our excitement and anticipation to host this event is evident as me and Wayne Long, Events Development Officer for the City of Charlottetown, have made the trek to Sydney, host of the 2010 event, for this announcement.
“I want to sincerely thank and congratulate both Wayne Long and Campbell Webster for all of their hard work on the development and delivery of a successful bid document to secure the 2011 ECMA event for Charlottetown.”
