AUSCAN Music Spotlight at the 2012 Song Summit (Sydney, Australia)
ECMA once again partnered with the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS) to present the "AUSCAN Music Spotlight” showcase initiative at the 2012 Song Summit in Sydney, Australia.
From May 26-28, Atlantic Canadian artists Matt Andersen, Tim Chaisson and David Myles traveled to Sydney, Australia for the 2012 Song Summit, and were joined alongside Australian favourites, Ray Beadle and Henry Wagons in a collaborative performance on the “AUSCAN Musical Spotlight Songwriters Circle” showcase (held on May 27 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre Bayside Terrace). Attended by more than 300 invited guests, industry buyers and delegates, the evening was a tremendous success and was graciously hosted by Henry Wagons and was the ‘BUZZ’ event of the Song Summit.
Prior to this event, the Song Summit along with SOCAN, ECMA and the Consulate General of Canada hosted a networking reception as part of Song Summit 2012. These events coincided with an extensive follow up second tour comprised of a multitude of concert dates (May/June) and media exposure for all three acts. Additionally, a private showcase reception (featuring performances by David Myles, Tim Chaisson, Matt Andersen and Ray Beadle) was held at the Canadian Consul General of Canada (Mario Ste-Marie) residence (on May 28) and was well attended by 50+ VIP music industry and business stakeholders.
