Awards & Stages Manual for Eastlink East Coast Music Week 2015

The 22 page Awards & Stages Manual for Eastlink East Coast Music Week (ECMW) 2015 in St. John’s, NL, has been re-designed, updated and is now available here. We recommend everyone use it as the complete reference guide for all awards (music, industry, honourary) and stages.

For those who prefer more light reading, ECMA is pleased to introduce a new, get to the point “fast facts” guide, in both English and French. The “fast facts” will familiarize you with the submission process, and answer basic questions such as: Do I qualify? What should I apply for? How much does it cost? Its’ the perfect introduction before reading the complete Awards & Stages Manual. Click here for the English Fast Facts. Click here for the French Fast Facts.

Here is the information you need to know:

Submissions will be open Monday, August 11 – Wednesday, October 1, 11:59PM AST, 2014.

The eligibility period for the 2015 East Coast Music Awards is from June 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014. Recordings must be released on or before October 1, 2014. Showcase eligibility periods are specified on pages 7-11 of the 2015 Awards & Stages Manual.

Some notable changes for 2015 (all detailed in the Awards & Stages Manual):

ECMA members in good standing will receive one free submission, with subsequent submissions costing $25. There will be two early bird submission prizes for ECMA members. ECMA members who submit before August 25 will be entered for the chance to win two early bird prizes: a free, one year membership to Bandzoogle, a powerful platform that enables artists to easily create and manage their website, with their own .com domain!

You do not need to be an ECMA member to submit for an award or showcase. Submission fees are higher for non-members: $40 each. If nominated or chosen for a showcase, you will, however, be required to register as an ECMA member before ECMW 2015.

ECMA has introduced a new membership structure, including a whopping 25% discount on memberships if you are a current member of your friendly East Coast music industry association (Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative, Music/Musique New Brunswick, Music Newfoundland & Labrador, Music Nova Scotia and Music PEI).

The new member structure and fees are as follows:

2 Year Individual: $105 / MIA discount $75
5 Year Individual: $240 / MIA discount $180
Lifetime: $500 / No discount

Changes have been made to many Music and Industry Award eligibility criteria. Please review criteria before submitting.

This year, we are introducing a brand-new Video of the Year Industry Award category. This award will be presented to both the video’s director and the artist and will be a fully juried award category.

There will be no submission fee for the Industry Awards this year….yes some things really are free! So please nominate that special someone who has made an impact in the industry. All Industry Awards will be fully juried award categories, and not open to public or member vote.
