East Coast Music Week - Moncton 2012 expected to attract over 6000 people and bring over $2 million in direct revenue.
(Moncton) - The 24th annual East Coast Music Week will be held in Moncton next April 11 - 15, 2012.
ECMA Music Week, Moncton 2012, was launched today by New Brunswick Premier David Alward, Moncton Mayor George LeBlanc and members of the East Coast Music Industry.
"Our Support of ECMA is part of our commitment to support the growth of the cultural industries in New Brunswick," says Premier Alward. "This event is instrumental in helping to promote East Coast Music both at home and around the globe."
Over six thousand people are expected to attend ECMA events during the four-day event in April that will provide $2.5 million in direct revenue and over $6 million in indirect revenue for Moncton and surrounding communities.
"The revenue generated by ECMA is only part of the positive impact this event will have on our community," says Moncton Mayor George Leblanc. "This celebration of culture in the region will showcase to the country and the world the caliber of talent we possess in Atlantic Canada."
ECMA Moncton 2012is being presented with the support of a local organizing committee (LOC) made up of several community volunteers.
"ECMA Moncton 2012 would not be possible without the continued support of residents and local businesses who continue to give of their time, talents and dollars," says LOC Chair Adam Gould. "There are still lots of volunteer opportunities available and a number of sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations who would like to be part of this amazing event."
Also announced today was the ECMA Moncton 2012 Gala Awards Celebration host - Internationally acclaimed singer and composer and New Brunswick native, Roch Voisine.
The Gala is being held Sunday, April 15th at Casino New Brunswick. Other main stage venues for the week include the Delta Beausejour, the Capitol Theatre, the Oxygen and Manhattan Clubs. Other venues will be announced closer to the event.
The 2012 Gala Awards show will be live webcast to the world by Bell Aliant and musical events throughout ECMA Week 2012 - will be widely broadcast on radio through CBC and Newcap radio stations across the region.

East Coast Music Week is an annual event organized by the East Coast Music Association as a critical part of its mission statement. The 2012 event will take place in Moncton, NB from April 11-15. The ECMA is a not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to foster, develop, promote and celebrate East Coast music locally and globally. The ECMA currently has over 900 members.
