Sam Sniderman was an Honourary Lifetime Director of the East Coast Music Association and he was awarded the ECMA Industry Builder Award in 2001. Sam was a true pioneer in the Canadian music industry, having opened the flagship Sam the Record Man store on Yonge Street in 1959.
Sam was an early believer and ambassador of East Coast Music. He will long be remembered for his unwavering support and invaluable contributions to the East Coast Music Association, ECMA Board of Directors and to the countless East Coast artists he so graciously embraced and helped break in the national music scene. Sam was one of the first national supporters of the annual ECMA Awards Show and Conference and encouraged many of his friends, colleagues and national industry partners to embrace what is today, East Coast Music Week.
Sam was an inspiration and a true man of his words. As Sam would say “I Said It & I Did It” - he will long be remembered and revered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sam's family and loved ones at this time.
