The East Coast Music Association Hires New Executive Director
(Moncton, NB) - The East Coast Music Association announced today the appointment of Scott Burke to the position of Executive Director. The announcement was made during the Industry Awards Brunch, part of East Coast Music Week 2012, currently in full swing in Moncton.
“After an extensive executive search in partnership with Gerald Walsh Associates, the Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Scott to guide our organization as we build on a successful quarter century of promoting East Coast Music locally, nationally and internationally,” said Mike Kennedy, Chair of the Board of Directors for the East Coast Music Association. “Scott brings to the ECMA a proven record of success in a variety of senior management roles in the culture sector of Atlantic Canada, a collaborative leadership style, substantial experience in the development and execution of strategic business plans, and a fresh perspective that will benefit our membership and the industry as a whole.“
Burke is an award-winning theatre administrator, producer, director, and writer. Over the last dozen years Scott has led a number of flagship East Coast theatre companies including Eastern Front Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick, and The Ship’s Company Theatre. For five years, Burke programmed the SuperNova Theatre Festival, Atlantic Canada’s National Professional Theatre Festival. In 2004, he created and launched the Ship’s Company Concert Series, which has, since its inception featured an annual roster of East Coast musicians. Burke created and produced a number of crossover concert/theatre events that celebrate the beginnings of the east coast music scene and some of our brightest stars.
