Having dedicated her post-secondary studies to pursuing 2 degrees simultaneously (a degree in Media Studies & a degree in Business Administration at the Ivey School of Business), Katrina Kat Kernaghan began her career in live music, working at Corus Entertainment managing the digital strategy for CMT Music Fest. From there, Kat landed a job with Wax Records as Head of Marketing, tasked with creating best-in-class music marketing activations and serving as creative director on multiple artist projects. Notably, Kat was integral in the marketing and promotional efforts behind composer group Blitz//Berlin's instrumental album Movements III, which won the JUNO for Instrumental Album of the Year in 2021. As part of her role with Wax Records, Kat also joined the management team for the emerging artist bülow, overseeing the creative and marketing on the project. During this time, bülow was integrated into the iconic Roots Sweatstyle campaign, she achieved several platinum certifications for record sales across her catalogue, and was awarded the 2019 JUNO for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Kat joined TikTok Canada team in March 2021 as one of two Record Label & Industry Partnerships leads, and in her short time at TikTok, has served as the Project Manager for the re-launch of MuchMusic, coordinated two TikTok Tailgates for the NHL's Stadium Series and Heritage Classic games, featuring Walker Hayes and WILLOW respectively, and has worked on numerous artist projects with the goal of bringing Canadian talent to the global stage and innovating new ways for artists to connect with audiences.
