Allison Outhit
Conference Speaker
Position: Artist Manager
Company: All Out Arts Management - New Glasgow, NS

All Out is Allison Outhit, a 30+ year veteran of the cultural industries. Allison’s love-hate relationship with the music business started when, as a pointy-haired feminist punk, she played in half a dozen bands, and dreamt of a record deal. She completed a law degree in 1994. After releasing a couple of albums and touring Canada in a busted Ford Econoline, Allison spent 10 years in film & TV and made the jump to the music business in 2006 with gigs at Outside Music, FACTOR, Six Shooter Records, Ishkōdé Records and others.

Allison earned a Certificate in Leadership and Inclusion in 2018. She founded the Alliance for Equity in the Music Industry, in the hope of growing a powerful coalition to root out systemic discrimination from the foundations of the Canadian music industry. In 2019, she was honoured with the Brian Chater Industry Award, given by the Canadian Independent Music Association in recognition of a transformative commitment to Canadian music.

She now lives (improbably) in New Glasgow, NS where she offers career, business development and equity consulting for the arts.
