Under the mentorship of veteran agents with careers built on wide-ranging tastes, Karl honed his own booking chops at The Windish Agency with both genre-defining cornerstones such as Bobby Womack and Shuggie Otis, and expansive / experimental acts including Nils Frahm and Dawn of Midi. Recognizing the evolving blend of genres and identifying the need for greater diversity in live music programming, Karl assembled his own roster at Paradigm to include progressive jazz, jam, funk, and indie folk acts: The Comet is Coming, Tim Hecker, Goose, Bedouine, and more. In 2020, Karl co-founded Arrival Artists, an independent agency now representing over 200 clients.
