Marc has been involved in music from the age of 5, taking violin lessons at the start of grade school, continuing through high school. In the 90s became interested in local music and the very talented artists in the area. He was a member of a country and bluegrass band Grass Country. This band ran for several years until the death of one of its members. Since this time he has been involved with the music industry in Nova Scotia in various ways. Marc and his wife Patti built a festival ground in Kempt Shore on the shores of the beautiful Minas Basin and held the first Kempt Shore Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Festival. This extremely successful festival has become a standard on the bluegrass festival circuit and in 2004 spawned a second festival the Acoustic Maritime Music Festival which showcases a greater variety of music types. We concentrate on promoting world class Maritime and Canadian artists and bringing them to our area. The Acoustic Maritime Music Festival has become one of the premier festivals in the Maritimes and is well known as a venue for original world class singer songwriters to show case their talents. This is the 20th anniversary year for this festival. Marc and Patti are the general manager/co-owner/artistic directors, of Kempt Shore Festivals and Kempt Shore Ocean View Campground For the last 15 years Marc has been a judge for the JUNO Awards, the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, the International Bluegrass Association Awards and the East Coast Music Association Awards. Marc and wife Patti encourage singer/songwriters to perform their music as acoustically as possible on their stage, giving them a chance to show fans their real artistry. The 2023 Acoustic Maritime Festival takes place July 13-16.
