Eluned Hâf is Head of Wales Arts International, the international agency of the Arts Council of Wales. She works closely with the Welsh Government and British Council to deliver cultural programmes as part of Team Cymru initiatives, such as Wales Japan Cultural Programme 2025 and Celtic Cousins at Showcase Scotland. A mother-tongue Welsh speaker, she spearheaded Gwrando, a programme by Arts Council of Wales to support artists in Wales to listen and learn from Indigenous languages and wisdom, as part of the UN Decade of Indigenous Languages. One of Eluned’s career highlights was making the case for culture within the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act, Wales’ pioneering contribution towards the UN Global Goals. She led the successful bid to host the World Music Expo (WOMEX) in Cardiff in 2013 and supported WOMEX in Manchester in 2024. This included a pre-visit to Eryri in Wales for a delegation of Indigenous musicians and cultural operators from Canada in partnership with the International Indigenous Music Summit. Eluned, alongside her WAI colleagues and counterparts from across the UK is part of Arts Infopoint UK, a dedicated service supporting international artists to come and work in the UK. Eluned studied languages and journalism. She worked for BBC Cymru Wales and Reuters TV before becoming press officer for the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament and founded una, a creative European communications agency. In her spare time Eluned loves to swim in the sea, sing in a choir and play football with her three boys.
