Richy Muirhead, based in Glasgow, is a specialist in event and project management with over 15 years of experience in the music industry. He is the founder of the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA), a nationally celebrated platform spotlighting Scotland’s diverse and emerging music scene. Over its 15-year history, SAMA has recognized outstanding artists, including Taahliah, Hannah Laing, Brògeal, JusHarry, Bemz, Dvne, and Callum Easter, among others. Beyond national recognition, SAMA creates international opportunities for artists, showcasing Scottish talent at renowned events like Pro Weekend Fest (Spain), Liverpool Sound City (UK), and New Skool Rules (Netherlands), SxSw London (UK), Cranium Arts (Canada) via their PITCH Scotland platform.

Richy is also the co-founder of PITCH Scotland, a three-day international conference and showcase festival dedicated to amplifying hip hop and underground music culture.
