Ryan Rathjen is an Edmonton based artist, organizer, and community builder who has spent more than two decades contributing to the city’s independent music culture. He is the founder and Executive Director of Purple City Music Festival, a volunteer-run nonprofit event that brings together local and international artists while highlighting Edmonton’s thriving underground music scene. Through Purple City, Rathjen has helped create new performance opportunities, industry connections, and export pathways for emerging artists.
