The 2019 ECMAs - Industry Conference Overview

The ECMA Industry Conference is the premiere destination for all Atlantic Canadian artists and industry professionals. It is a place for artists and members to connect with international guest delegates and educators, offer mentorship and be mentored by peers and industry experts, and ultimately elevate their careers.

In 2019 the conference will continue to shine a spotlight on the ECMA Music in Motion SYNC Summit and will offer a series of engaging forums. Whether you are new to the world of film and television or a seasoned professional, the SYNC Summit will put you face-to-face with National and International professionals to provide insight to expand career and business opportunities in the world of film, television, advertising and music supervision.

This year, ECMA has partnered with Music PEI to present the Music PEI Song Conference as a part of the ECMA 2019 Conference activities. This songwriting stream will provide artists with a unique opportunity to hone their craft through the Music PEI Canadian Song Challenge and a songwriting master class. Pitch sessions throughout the conference will put artists and their music in front of industry professionals in the areas of publishing, music supervision, A&R and songwriting.

Mentorship and intensive workshop opportunities are a cornerstone of the ECMA Industry Conference. This year we will continue to offer mentorship programs for managers, breakout artists, emerging and established artists as well as industry professionals across a variety of roles and genres.

Networking and business development is another key pillar of the program and as such artists and industry will continue to be able to connect and do business with our Connect with the Experts - Artist & Industry Mentorship Program. This is a choose-your-own-adventure style of mentorship that allows artists to select the area(s) of the business where they would like to receive support and mentorship and sign up for 30 minute sessions with a mentor in that field.

The full ECMA conference schedule will be available in early 2019 along with announcements on the ECMA 2019 Export Buyers Program.

The East Coast Music Association would like to acknowledge the financial support from the Province of Prince Edward Island and the City of Charlottetown, FACTOR, MUSICACTION and the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund) and Canada's private radio broadcasters.
