The 2020 ECMAs- Industry Conference Overview

The ECMA Industry Conference ‘Our Music Means Business’ is the premiere destination for all Atlantic Canadian artists and industry professionals. It is a place for artists and members to connect with international guest delegates and educators, offer mentorship and be mentored by peers and industry experts, and ultimately elevate their careers.

In 2020 the conference will continue to shine a spotlight on the ECMA Music in Motion SYNC Summit and will offer a series of engaging forums. Whether you are new to the world of film and television or a seasoned professional, the SYNC Summit will put you face-to-face with National and International professionals to provide insight to expand career and business opportunities in the world of film, television, advertising and music supervision. This year we will be expanding the Summit to dive into global opportunities in sync along with additional opportunities for networking and business development.

Mentorship and intensive workshop opportunities are a cornerstone of the ECMA Industry Conference. This year we will continue to offer mentorship programs for managers, breakout artists, emerging and established artists as well as industry professionals across a variety of roles and genres.

Networking and business development is another key pillar of the program and as such artists and industry will continue to be able to connect and do business with programs such as the Canadian Presenting Touring Networks Forum with targeted networking opportunities.

Celebrating its 19th edition, the ECMA International Export Buyers Program will welcome more than 75 music industry delegates from the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe including booking agents, talent buyers, festivals, event and venue programmers, promoters, presenters, music supervisors, digital experts and media from the music industry around the world.

The full ECMA conference schedule will be available in early 2020 along with announcements on the ECMA 2020 Export Buyers Program.

The East Coast Music Association would like to acknowledge the financial support from the TD, The Province of Newfoundland & Labrador and the City of St. John’s, FACTOR, MUSICACTION and the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund) and Canada's private radio broadcasters.
