Jennifer King is a versatile pianist who is known for her thoughtful, sensitive and engaging performances. She has firmly established herself as a sought-after talent across Atlantic Canada.

Her accolades include scholarships from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust, and an Award of Appreciation from the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia in recognition of her contributions to musical life in the province. Her first solo recording of all night inspired music- O Mistress Moon was released January 2018.

Since her debut release, Jennifer has released Doolittle: Minute Études “Excerpts” (Live) (2019), Twilight Hour (2020) and is currently working on a new project called O Mistress Moon - Canadian Edition. This album is a sequel to her successful earlier recording of the same name, now as a special all-Canadian version. The project features twelve contemporary Canadian piano works selected by King for their relationship to the environment, especially of the moon, outer space, and the night. For this all-Canadian project, Jennifer has teamed up with Halifax music producers, Leaf Music, to release the recordings in 12 monthly singles that correspond to each full moon of the year, starting in February 2021 until January 2022.

Jennifer worked as staff pianist and part time faculty member at Acadia University’s School of Music for thirteen years. She currently works as a private piano instructor, coach and free-lance pianist based in Halifax. She joined the faculty at Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts in 2017. Ms. King has performed in hundreds of recitals and concerts as a collaborative pianist, chamber musician and as a soloist. Jennifer can be heard in concert alongside some of Canada’s most respected singers and musicians. Ms. King holds a Masters of Music degree in solo piano performance from McGill University, postgraduate diplomas from the University of Reading in the UK as well as the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.
