Melissa MacKenzie
Region: PEI
Genre: Pop, Singer-Songwriter

Melissa is a performer, creator, and activist from Prince Edward Island. She’s trying to figure out how to build a life around storytelling, menstrual equity, and loving other humans. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College and is a co-founder of both Diva Day International (@ddivaday) and Kitbag Theatre.

Melissa's vocals are as dynamic and versatile as her interests. From operetta to gospel, from singer-songwriter to big Broadway belt, from jazz to indie-folk, Melissa is a powerhouse performer in many genres and is hired as such.

Musical theatre is her first and primary love. In a non-COVID timeline, Melissa would have played the iconic redhead in Anne & Gilbert in Charlottetown under Rebecca Parent’s direction in the summer of 2020.

Theatre credits include: Tuesdays & Sundays (Kitbag Theatre), good girl (Trailside Music Hall; 120 Diner), It’s a Wonderful Life (Magnus Theatre), Kitsault (Pucl & Price), Anne & Gilbert (The Guild), Crazy for You, Trap Door (Theatre Sheridan), Perfect Wedding, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Stephenville Theatre Festival), We Are Canadian, Soul of the Island (Charlottetown Festival Young Company).
