Youngtree is a performer who can reliably rouse those pin-drop moments in otherwise clamorous crowds. While awarded MusicNL’s Country Recording of the Year in 2016, the label of “country" fits him too loosely. A sound of his own, with influences ranging from Patsy Cline to Megadeth, he has been compared to late-60’s Dylan, Gram Parsons, and Eric Bachmann (Vish Khanna, Exclaim!). His craft has put him on stages with Joel Plaskett, Jennifer Castle, Pamela Morgan, and in a song-writing session with Crash Test Dummies' Brad Roberts. Attracting four career musicians to form Youngtree & The Blooms, this band teamed with in-demand producer Chris Kirby to release a “very impressive, very interesting debut album” (Bill Roach, CBC) in November 2018, with the song ‘Ten Million Ways to Decay’ featured as one of The East magazine's best tracks of the year.
