As the 2019 East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference presented by TD wraps up in Charlottetown, several artists come away as the big prize winners. Classified takes home four ECMAs including wins for Album of the Year and Video of the Year, Jeremy Dutcher earns three awards including Rising Star of the Year, and Reeny Smith and Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire each garner two trophies a piece.
"What an amazing time we’ve had celebrating the 31st annual East Coast Music Awards in beautiful Charlottetown. Congratulations to all of the very deserving award winners, and thank you to all the fabulously talented artists who performed throughout the week," says Andy McLean, CEO of the ECMA. "This event cannot succeed without the tireless work and contributions from our staff, board, volunteers, local committee, delegates, sponsors, partners, venues and hotels, and we thank you for everything you’ve done this week. The city of Charlottetown has been an incredibly warm and accommodating host, and we can’t wait to return."
"It’s been a fantastic week of music here in Charlottetown. We always enjoy coming to this city and celebrating East Coast music in the birthplace of Confederation," says Dean Stairs, Chair of the ECMA’s Board of Directors. "Thank you to the musicians who once again have displayed the outstanding creative force that makes the East Coast of Canada such a unique place to live and work. Thank you to the folks of Charlottetown and PEI who have so enthusiastically supported the ECMAs throughout the years. On behalf of the Board of Directors I want to recognize the hard work and dedication of the ECMA staff, the volunteers, and the sponsors. An event of this magnitude does not happen without support at all levels of government, so thank you as well to the City of Charlottetown, the province of Prince Edward Island, and the Government of Canada for your support in helping ECMA members continue to work in the creative industries and live in Atlantic Canada."
The 2020 East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference presented by TD takes place in St. John’s, NL from April 29-May 03, 2020.

Alors que les Prix de la musique de la côte Est 2019: Festival et conférence présenté par TD se terminent à Charlottetown, plusieurs artistes émergent comme les grands gagnants. Classified remporte quatre ECMAs y inclus les prix pour Album de l’année et Vidéoclip de l’année, Jeremy Dutcher gagne trois prix y inclus Enregistrement de l'année - Étoiles de demain et Reeny Smith et les Hôtesses d’Hilaire remportent chaque deux prix.
« Nous avons passé des moments formidables en célébrant la 31e édition des Prix de la musique de la côte Est dans la belle ville de Charlottetown. Félicitations à tous les lauréats de ces prix, et merci à tous les artistes remplis de talents qui se sont produits tout au long de la semaine. » dit Andy McLean, PDG de l'ECMA. « Cet événement ne peut pas réussir sans le travail et les contributions inlassables de notre personnel, du conseil d'administration, des bénévoles, du comité local, des délégués, des commanditaires, des partenaires, des salles et hôtels, et nous vous remercions pour tout ce que vous avez accompli cette semaine. La ville de Charlottetown a été une hôtesse incroyablement chaleureuse et accommodante et nous sommes impatients de revenir. »
« Nous avons passé une semaine de musique fantastique à Charlottetown. Nous aimons toujours venir à cette ville et célébrer la musique de la côte Est dans le berceau de la Confédération, » dit Dean Stairs, président du conseil d’administration de l’ECMA. « Merci aux musiciens qui ont encore une fois démontré la force créative exceptionnelle qui fait de la côte Est du Canada un endroit unique à vivre et travailler. Merci aux gens de Charlottetown et de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard qui ont soutenu avec enthousiasme les ECMAs au fil des ans. Au nom du conseil d'administration, je tiens à souligner le travail acharné et le dévouement du personnel de l'ECMA, des bénévoles et des commanditaires. Un événement de cette ampleur ne se produit pas sans soutien de la part de tous les niveaux de gouvernement. Merci donc à la ville de Charlottetown, à la province de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard et au gouvernement du Canada de votre soutien pour aider les membres de l'ECMA à continuer de travailler dans les industries créatives et de vivent ici au Canada atlantique. »

ABOUT ECMA
The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is a regional collaboration of people in the music industry of Atlantic Canada that fosters, develops and celebrates East Coast music and its artists locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The ECMA annually produces the ECMAs, one of the top music industry events in Canada, which includes Awards, a Festival, an Industry Conference and the International Export Buyers Program. ECMA and its programs are generously funded by the Government of Canada through the International Business Development Agreement (represented by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and Industry Canada), the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund), the four provincial governments in Atlantic Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and MUSICACTION. ECMA recognizes the support of the province of Prince Edward Island, the City of Charlottetown, Platinum Partners Stingray Radio, and presenting sponsor TD Bank Group.

L’Association de la musique de la côte Est est une collaboration entre les membres de l’industrie musicale du Canada atlantique. La mission de l’AMCE est d’encourager, développer et célébrer la musique de la côte Est et ses artistes, aux niveaux locaux, régionaux, nationaux et internationaux. L’AMCE organise annuellement les ECMAs, un des plus grands événements de l’industrie musicale au pays, avec des prix, un festival, des conférences et un programme d’achat pour les délégués internationaux. L’AMCE est généreusement financée par le gouvernement de Canada par l’Entente Canada - provinces de l’Atlantique sur la promotion du commerce extérieur (représenté par l’Agence de promotion économique du Canada atlantique, Affaires étrangères, Commerce et Développement Canada, et Industrie Canada), Patrimoine canada (Fonds de la musique du Canada), les quatre gouvernements provinciaux du Canada atlantique, Affaires étrangères, Commerce et Développement Canada, et MUSICACTION.
