It is with deep sadness that we recognize the passing of Mitch Polodak. Mitch was an icon within the Canadian folk music community. Artists from across Canada and around the world have been nurtured either through his direct influence or through the programs that he put in place throughout his life.

Whether it was the Winnipeg Folk Festival, The Vancouver Folk Music Festival, The Home Routes Series, the Edmonton and Calgary Folk Festival, closer to home, the Stan Rogers Folk Festival or through his lifetime of mentorship, Mitch Polodak’s influence on Folk Music within Canada is unparalleled. Our condolences to his family at this time of great loss.
