Classified, Daniel Ledwell, Plan b Lounge, and Celtic Colours International Festival named as winners at East Coast Music Industry Awards Reception

Classified, Daniel Ledwell, Plan b Lounge, and Celtic Colours International Festival are among the winners of the 2017 East Coast Music Industry Awards. The trophies were handed out this afternoon at the East Coast Music Industry Awards Reception at Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John.

Earlier this evening the remaining 2017 East Coast Music Awards were handed out during the final series of showcases. The recipients were as follows:

"A huge thank you is in order for the city of Saint John, which has been an incredible host for the 2017 ECMAs. Congratulations to all of this year's awards winners and nominees, and thank you to all of the fantastic East Coast artists who've performed throughout the week," says Andy McLean, ECMA Executive Director. "The ECMAs is our way of showcasing East Coast talent to the world. Thank you to all of the delegates and export buyers for joining us at this amazing event. I'm sure this year will result in a significant amount of business and showcasing opportunities for our artists and music industry members."

“On behalf of the ECMA Board of Directors, I want to thank you all for your exemplary dedication to ensuring that the 2017 ECMAs was the very best event possible. I want to especially thank our dedicated staff, who work around the year to ensure that this event is a success. An event of this magnitude is impossible to carry out without the contributions of a dedicated team of local volunteers. And the work of Lisa Gribbons and Chuck Teed, Co-Chairs of the Local Engagement Committee, should also be recognized, as they and their team have worked tirelessly to ensure that Saint John is indeed Saint Awesome," says Dean Stairs, Chair of the ECMA Board. “Last but by no means least, thank you to the city and people of Saint John, New Brunswick. You have welcomed us with open arms, and your energy and spirit have been infectious and inspiring. You have made our work a pleasure!”

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is a regional collaboration of people in the music industry of Atlantic Canada that fosters, develops and celebrates East Coast music and its artists locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The ECMA annually produces the ECMAs, one of the top music industry events in Canada, which includes Awards, a Festival, an Industry Conference and the International Export Buyers Program. ECMA and its programs are generously funded by the Government of Canada through the International Business Development Agreement (represented by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and Industry Canada), the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund), the four provincial governments in Atlantic Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and MUSICACTION. ECMA recognizes the support of the province of New Brunswick, the City of Saint John, and Platinum Partners Newcap Radio, TD Bank Group, Bell Aliant, and The Telegraph Journal.

« Un grand merci à la ville de Saint John, un hôte incroyable pour les Prix de la musique de la côte Est 2017 : Festival et conférence. Félicitations à tous les lauréats des Prix et merci à tous les artistes pour leurs performances cette semaine, » affirme Andy McLean, directeur exécutif de l’Association de la musique de la côte Est (AMCE). « La célébration des ECMAs est notre façon de présenter le talent de la côte Est au monde. Merci à tous les délégués et acheteurs pour nous joindre à cet événement incroyable. Je suis certain que cet événement offrira une énorme quantité d’occasions d’affaires pour nos artistes et membres de notre industrie. »

« Au nom du conseil d’administration de l’AMCE, je voudrais remercier tous ceux qui on démontré un dévouement exemplaire pour faire certain que les ECMAs 2017 soit le meilleur événement possible. Je tiens à remercier particulièrement notre personnel dévoué qui travaille tout au long de l’année pour s’assurer que cet événement est une réussite. Un événement de cette ampleur est impossible sans les contributions d’une équipe dévouée de bénévoles locaux. Les travaux de Lisa Gribbons et Chuck Teed, coprésidents du Comité d’engagement régionale, doivent aussi être applaudi. Avec leur équipe, ils ont travaillé sans relâche pour s’assurer que Saint John soit en effet ‘Saint Awesome’ ! » affirme Dean Stairs, président du conseil d’administration de l’AMCE. « Finalement, merci à la ville de Saint John et leurs habitants. L’Association de la musique de la côte Est est une collaboration entre les membres de l’industrie musicale du Canada atlantique. La mission de l’AMCE est d’encourager, développer et célébrer la musique de la côte Est et ses artistes, aux niveaux locaux, régionaux, nationaux et internationaux. L’AMCE organise annuellement les ECMAs, un des plus grands événements de l’industrie musicale au pays, avec des prix, un festival, des conférences et un programme d’achat pour les délégués internationaux.
