Aaron Zorgel is a Music Programmer at Apple Music, based in Toronto, who oversees curation and artist relations for key genre and mood/lifestyle spaces, including pop, alternative, and singer-songwriter. He is also the global head of punk and hardcore music worldwide at Apple Music. He’s focused on curating playlists, programming radio stations and merchandising spaces, as well as interfacing with artists, managers, and labels. He has been with Apple Music for 7 years. Before his time at Apple, Aaron was a music journalist, writing for outlets like Exclaim!, AUX, and Broken Pencil, ultimately becoming Music Editor for Complex Canada. He’s also a musician himself, playing in various punk and hardcore projects, and spends a lot of time in the studio and exploring music production. He’s passionate about educating and empowering independent artists and the creatives behind the songs.
