Andy Hillhouse has been the Executive and Artistic Director of the Harrison Festival Society since 2013. The organization exists to produce the 9 day Harrison Festival of the Arts each July, in Harrison Hot Springs, BC. The 2024 edition will be the festival's 45th anniversary. The Society also produces a Season of the Performing Arts from September through April. The goal of the Society is to celebrate cultural diversity and to develop community through the arts, and the broad range of sounds you might hear on a given year can range from Punjabi bhangra beats to Scottish strathspeys, or from psychedelic cumbia to horn-driven funk, ringing out on the shores of stunning Harrison Lake. Andy has spent much of his adult life as a touring musician in the world of roots and traditional music, and has a PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Toronto.
