Barney is an independent consultant advising venues, musicians and other creatives, in addition to being a booking agent and artist manager. Prior to setting up Kick Arts UK in 2019 he ran Aldershot's award-winning venue and arts centre West End Centre in the UK for almost 20 years, and managed rock band Reuben throughout their career (including sessions on Radio 1, tours with Billy Talent, Biffy Clyro etc). He currently works with acclaimed folk/alt-folk artists Chris Wood, Lucy Farrell, Dominie Hooper, Stick In The Wheel and Hannah James & Toby Kuhn. He also works with post-rock band The Exact Opposite, LiveAV-electronica outfit void_null and Platform 4 Theatre. Barney is a member of the MMF, mentored Amelia Coburn for English Folk Expo, and lectured in music business at UCA until last year. Along the way he has been a tour manager, arts development officer, lighting tech, promoter and musician.
