After earning her Hons, Bachelor of Music (WLU), and a certificate in arts management (Waterloo), Genny worked for 15 years in arts marketing and programming at various arts organizations including the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Waterloo Theatre Company, the Rose Theatre Brampton and Centre in the Square.

In 2014, Genny DeMerchant co-founded the booking agency, You Will Love it Live and later took sole ownership. She was honoured to be named Agent of the Year in 2019 by Ontario Presents and nominated by the BC Touring Council in 2024. Genny represents a roster of emerging, mid-career and masterful artists in various genres, whose work is best experienced live.

As a musician, Genny deeply appreciates the challenges and rewards of touring and enjoys working with performing artists to develop sustainable and fulfilling careers. Genny volunteers with a number of arts organizations including NAPAMA and Western Arts Alliance, sings with the Ottawa Cantata Singers, and is a dedicated yogi. Namaste.
