Micah Smith is the Founder of Crescendo Fest, Nova Scotia’s only Black-owned and operated music festival and conference. She created Crescendo because she saw a gap and knew our artists deserved more access, more visibility, and real opportunities beyond the region.

Micah’s work lives at the intersection of music, culture, and community. She has served as a JUNOfest Producer for the 2024 JUNO Awards and sits on the board of ADVANCE Canada’s Black Music Business Collective. Her focus is artist development, mentorship, and building sustainable pathways for African Nova Scotian and Black artists across all Black-rooted genres. Micah is also an accomplished vocalist whose lived experience as an artist shapes how she leads. She understands the industry from the stage and behind the scenes, which fuels her passion for creating platforms where artists are not only showcased, but developed, supported, and positioned to thrive locally, nationally, and internationally.
