Since co-founding Music PEI in 2008, Rob Oakie has been the Executive Director these past 18 years. Music PEI is the music industry association for the province of Prince Edward Island and provides support to PEI artists and industry professionals. That support includes funding programs, professional development and export development.

Rob will be stepping aside as the ED in 2026. In 2019, Rob joined the board of the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Since then, Rob created and manages the CFMA Buyers Program, recruiting music industry professionals as delegates to attend the annual folk awards. The awards are held in a different community each year across Canada and currently the Buyer’s Program is recruiting up to 35 delegates, both international and domestic. In his spare time, Rob is a mandolinist.
