Samir (Sam) Baijal has been the Artistic Director for the Hillside Festival since 1998. Sam also works for the University of Guelph where he presents concerts, organizes special events and promotions for the students and community. He enjoys his work immensely and is very passionate about live music. His favourite pastime is attending concerts which he misses dearly as we all continue to navigate these delicate days of the pandemic. The Hillside Summer Festival and Hillside Inside are three-day, multi-stage events with a broad artistic vision that emphasizes diversity: of culture, of musical heritage and style, of age, geography and influence. Set in a beautiful, accessible conservation area with campgrounds on Guelph Lake, the summer festival is world-renowned as one of Canada’s most progressive, environmentally conscious, completely non-commercial community celebrations. The 2024 Hillside Festival takes place July 19 - 21.
