Since 2003, Zach Atkinson has been an integral part of the Fredericton and NB Music Scene, initially as a local music promoter dedicated to nurturing the all-ages music scene and collaborating with the Fredericton-based label, Forward Music Group. Today, Zach is the proud owner and operator of The Cap, a dynamic venue, brewery, and record store. For a quarter-century, The Cap has stood as a beacon of intimacy, offering a space for people to listen, dance, and connect. With a keen focus on live entertainment including music, comedy, improv, and various arts, The Cap has become a cornerstone of the community. In addition to his role at The Cap, Zach serves as the executive director of Fredericton's midwinter festival, Shivering Songs. His involvement spans the booking of venues such as Saint John’s Peppers Pub and Moncton's Tide & Boar Gastropub and Ballroom, as well as programming the city of Fredericton's summer concert series. With over 150 shows and events annually, Zach's contributions have enriched the cultural landscape of Fredericton and beyond. Shivering Songs brings internationally acclaimed artists to historic and intimate spaces in Downtown Fredericton, on the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.
