An Atlantic Collaboration: Five Breweries Come Together to Support ECMA
The East Coast Music Association is thrilled to debut this year’s ECMAle for the 2024 East Coast Music Awards in Charlottetown, PE. Proudly brewed on the island by Upstreet Craft Brewing in collaboration with Breton Brewing, Garrison Brewing, Grimross Brewing Co. & Quidi Vidi Brewery, this year marks the 4th anniversary of this special edition beer as part of ECMAs Craft Beer Collective partnership.
This year's label, designed by ECMA Nominee Jud Haynes, embodies the magic of Prince Edward Island. Inspired by a traditional postcard design, the 2024 wrap features a stunning background of the Confederation Bridge and PEI trademarks highlighted in the letters of ECMA. “Having lived in three out of the four Atlantic Provinces (so far!), I've been keenly aware of how exciting our East Coast music is for the community.” says Haynes, “I love our annual celebration at the ECMAs and was honoured to get to draw something fun and colourful for this great new beer collab.”
Smooth and easy drinking, ECMAle Track 4: Charlottetown Blonde Ale is a balanced and refreshing brew - perfect for an evening of live music. For each can of ECMAle sold, 50 cents is donated towards ECMA to help us continue to develop & promote the incredible talent across Atlantic Canada. The specialty beer is now available in the Upstreet Taproom and Craft Beer Corner as well as on shelves at select liquor stores in PEI, New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador this month.
The 2024 East Coast Music Awards will be held in Charlottetown, PE from May 1-5, check out the full schedule of performances HERE!
About the ECMA Craft Beer Collective
In 2021, ECMA announced that it had partnered with five craft breweries throughout Atlantic Canada to expand existing ties between the regional brewing and music industries. The selected breweries represent each of the five regions where the annual East Coast Music Awards are held on a rotating basis, which includes Breton Brewing (Cape Breton), Grimross Brewing (New Brunswick), Garrison Brewing (Nova Scotia), Upstreet Craft Brewing (Prince Edward Island), and Quidi Vidi Brewery (Newfoundland). This partnership is in part of ECMA’s mission to ensure that its members can sustain careers while based in Atlantic Canada.
