ECMA Cup Charity Hockey Game as part of ECMA 2024 in Charlottetown, May 4

(Halifax, NS) – In support of the Canada Mental Health Association - PEI Chapter (CMHA-PEI), the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) has announced the fourth annual ECMA Cup Charity Hockey Game, as part of ECMA 2024, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Bell Aliant Centre (560 University Avenue) in Charlottetown.

A fun and competitive competition, the ECMA Cup Charity Hockey Game will see two teams of musicians, industry professionals, hockey players, and other community members go head-to-head for the title of 2024 ECMA Cup Champions. Those who will be lacing up their skates include former NHLers from PEI Troy Crowder, Gordie Dwyer (Acadie-Bathurst Titan Coach/GM), David Ling, Cory Micalef and Terry Ryan, as well as other hockey professionals Stephen Dixon, Brian Dunn, Sean Fisher (UPEI Women’s Hockey Coach), Logan MacMillan, Chloe McCabe and Darcy Simon. Musicians participating include Derek Ellis (Two Hours Traffic), as well as Tim Chaisson and Jake Charron (The East Pointers), who will be coaching the teams.

“This event is a great initiative to bring people together outside typical programming and an opportunity to raise money for a great cause,” said Tim Hardy, Chair of the ECMA Cup Committee.”We are so grateful to everyone involved in this fundraiser, especially the musicians who work tirelessly to provide the best entertainment in the music world.”

The ECMA Cup Charity Hockey Game is free to attend and open to all ages. Donations are encouraged in support of the Canada Mental Health Association - PEI Chapter. CMHA-PEI promotes the mental health of all Islanders and supports the resiliency and recovery of those experiencing mental illness. Donations can be made in-person at the game or online HERE.
