ECMA Remembers Myles Goodwyn

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Myles Goodwyn.

Best known for his time with the multiple platinum-selling band, April Wine, he was also an acclaimed blues musician. His work in the music industry as a solo artist garnered two ECMAs for Blues Recording of the Year, the 2003 ECMA Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award and a JUNO nomination, while accumulating 11 JUNO nominations as part of April Wine. Also a celebrated songwriter, Goodwyn’s impact was honoured with his induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame at the 35th East Coast Music Awards in May 2023.

Though retired from performing regularly, he never stopped contributing to April Wine’s continued success, helping to manage the group and write music up until his death. The band was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame earlier this year.

ECMA mourns this tremendous loss in the East Coast music industry. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Myles’ family, friends, and those in the music industry at large.
