ECMA Remembers Newfoundland Musician Denis Parker

ECMA is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Denis Parker.

He was a musical trailblazer for the Newfoundland and Labrador music community serving as the first Executive Director of MusicNL (1996-2014) and was a highly respected blues musician and internationally acclaim recording artist.

Denis was one of the early pioneers involved with the formation of the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland & Labrador which was one of the first provincial association in Canada. His passion, belief and tireless efforts lobbying for musicians and industry were relentless and his contributions will live on forever. From creating programs, finding investment and developing and promoting the talent of Newfoundland & Labrador, Denis was presented with the prestigious ECMA Industry Builder Award in 1999.
