The East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference brings delegates from around the world and across Canada to see the incredible talent the East Coast has to offer. The organization's mandate to grow the local industry continues with an exciting partnership with KL Management: The KL Management Black Mentorship Program.

Katrina Lopes, originally from Nova Scotia and the management behind artists including Shawn Desman, Kayla Diamond, and RadioClub will be providing mentorship to select African Canadian artists showcasing at the 2023 ECMAs. “Mentorship is an important cornerstone to success in any industry, but is even more impactful for historically marginalized groups.”

This program Sponsored by ADVANCE, Canada's Black Music Business Collective consists of 9 African Canadian artists: including Vince the Messenger and Kierrah from PEI, One8Tea and King Sway from NB, Ife Alaba from NFLD, and Jody Upshaw, Kxng Wooz, Zamani Folade and Maggie Andrew from NS. The program also includes 2 African Canadian emerging music managers Shevy Price and Kolade Boboye.
